We provide regulatory testing and solutions for chemical substances prohibited or restricted in domestic and international markets, such as those found in consumer electronics, electrical appliances, and food-contact materials. This resource primarily provides explanations of the content of global green product regulations, such as RoHS, REACH, PPW, POPs, CP65, TSCA, and others. You can search by the region or country to which your products are exported, allowing you to quickly find the information you need.

Regulatory Updates

RSTS Electronic and Electrical Prohibited and Restricted Substances Service Department

In the 90s, in Taiwan, in response to the export needs of the textile and toy industries, SGS established a chemical laboratory.

Provide operators with chemical and physical related testing services

In 2003, the European Union passed the "Restriction of Hazardous Substances in Electrical and Electronic Equipment" (RoHS), and in July 2006, it began to restrict the import of electronic and electrical products containing four heavy metals and two bromine flame retardants into the EU, thus starting the development of global green products. As a result, the SGS Chemistry Laboratory was officially renamed the Electronic and Electrical Prohibited and Restricted Substances Service Department - SGS RSTS.

In recent years, energy conservation, carbon reduction, and saving the earth have become a must-face issue for countries around the world, and countries have also successively announced relevant regulations for green products such as RoHS, REACH, POPs, GB VOC, Eco-design, packaging material regulations, etc., and the SGS RSTS team conforms to this world trend, providing testing and related services required by global green product regulations to reduce risks and avoid losses, and at the same time provide one-stop services to enhance the image of high-quality products.
