What

What is the SGS Performance Mark?

The SGS Performance Mark was co-developed by the SGS international team to provide product functional verification from the world's most trusted third-party testing institution. SGS functional testing and verification services differ from basic testing designed only to meet regulatory requirements; instead, we conduct functional testing assessments and experimental designs tailored to the specific product characteristics that customers wish to emphasize. Once your product passes SGS functional testing and receives approval from our expert review team, a Performance Mark featuring the SGS logo can be issued for use in marketing and promotion across Taiwan and international markets. Showcase your product's unique features and performance through the SGS Performance Mark to bring consumers closer to your brand!

There are two levels of Performance Marks:

  • SGS Premium Performance Marks
  • SGS Performance Tested Marks

Who

What products can apply for the SGS Performance Mark?

Large and small household appliances, lighting products, electronic products, power tools, wireless/telecommunications products, etc.

In recent years, due to the pandemic, electrical products such as air purifiers, UV germicidal lamps, and air conditioning systems have seen high demand for functional testing in air purification and antibacterial properties. However, beyond these, we can also provide customized experimental designs for other products such as refrigerators, washing machines, dishwashers, computer monitors, and automobiles based on their specific features and requirements.

Why

How can the SGS Performance Mark help?

Test results provided by a third-party testing institution are not inherently the same as "certification/verification." Many businesses misuse these terms in advertisements, leading to consumer misconceptions. In fact, the Fair Trade Commission has fined businesses and online platforms for deceptive advertising when they only performed tests but claimed their products were "verified" by an impartial institution. While the intention to showcase product features and gain consumer trust is good, improper use of test reports can lead to legal violations.

By passing SGS functional testing and expert evaluation, using the SGS Performance Mark not only builds consumer trust but also helps avoid legal risks related to false advertising and minimizes disputes regarding the unauthorized use of a third-party testing agency's logo.

  • The mark presents clear and easy-to-understand product features.
  • Product information or test details can be easily accessed by scanning the QR code on the mark.
  • The SGS Performance Mark allows for formal and legitimate use in product sales, preventing penalties from misusing "verification" terminology in ads.
  • Testing and marking from a leading third-party brand help increase consumer trust and enhance brand image.

When

When is the best time to apply during the product lifecycle?

Development and sales schedules vary for every product. It is recommended to obtain the mark before launching marketing campaigns to boost product promotion! The SGS Premium Performance Mark is valid for 3 years, while the SGS Performance Tested Mark is valid for 2 years.

Where

In which regions can the SGS Performance Mark be used?

Both the SGS Premium Performance Mark and the SGS Performance Tested Mark are recognized and usable worldwide.
