In general, the restricted hazardous substances are consistent with EU RoHS requirements. The regulated substances include lead (0.1%), mercury (0.1%), cadmium (0.01%), hexavalent chromium (0.1%), polybrominated biphenyls (PBBs) (0.1%), and polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDEs) (0.1%).

• On October 25, 2021, the Eurasian Economic Union published a draft amendment to TR 037/2016 and planned a public consultation from November 19, 2021 to January 21, 2022, covering the following proposed changes:
  1. Add four additional phthalates, expanding the list of restricted substances from 6 to 10.
  2. Expand the product scope from 12 categories to 13 categories.
  3. Revise the exemption list from 43 items to 48 items.
  4. Add new provisions related to waste management of electrical and electronic equipment, including new terms such as “waste electrical and electronic equipment,” “separate collection labeling,” “best available techniques” (for collection, storage, transport, treatment, disposal of WEEE), “recycling of WEEE,” “extended producer responsibility,” “treatment of WEEE,” “waste collection marking,” and “competent authority in the field of waste management for electrical and electronic equipment.”
