Why

Why comply with EU RoHS?

  • EU RoHS, REACH, and POPs regulations are mandatory requirements for entering the European market, all sharing a common goal of protecting human health and the environment. RoHS specifically focuses on reducing hazardous substances in electrical and electronic products, minimizing risks to users and environmental impact. 
  • As the global benchmark for similar regulations, RoHS compliance is a key entry requirement for exporting green products.
  • Ensuring compliance not only enables smooth market access but also helps manufacturers avoid penalties, fines, and product recalls.
     

When

When did EU RoHS take effect?

  • RoHS has been a mandatory requirement for the EU market since July 1, 2006 (Directive 2002/95/EC).
  • From July 22, 2019, Directive (EU) 2015/863 introduced four additional phthalates under restriction, further strengthening compliance requirements.(Note: Medical devices and monitoring & control instruments are subject to this requirement from July 22, 2021.)
