EN 15343 Recycled Plastics Verification Service

The EN 15343 standard, issued by the European Committee for Standardization (CEN), aims to establish a systematic and traceable assessment system to ensure the quality and source of recycled plastics. Additionally, EN 15343 emphasizes the recycled content in products. Applying for this verification ensures the proportion of recycled plastics in your products and enhances supply chain transparency.

Currently, for major EU plastic recycling member countries such as Germany, France, Italy, and Spain, obtaining EN 15343 verification has become a prerequisite for entering the European market. According to the latest regulations in Spain, starting in 2024, exported non-reusable plastic packaging must comply with the UNE-EN-15343 standard and demonstrate the recycled plastic content in the product to qualify for plastic tax exemptions. To help companies expand into international markets, SGS Taiwan, in collaboration with SGS Spain, offers EN 15343/UNE-EN15343 Recycled Plastics Verification Services, assisting businesses in meeting EU plastics strategy requirements and addressing plastic tax issues when exporting to Spain.

Service Content

According to European Parliament Regulation No. 765/2008 (EC), verification bodies must be accredited by national accreditation bodies or those from other EU member states. Within this framework, SGS's EN 15343 verification service is accredited by ENAC in Spain and follows the ISO 17065 standard, ensuring the authority and accuracy of the verification process. SGS provides professional EN 15343/UNE-EN 15343 recycled plastics verification services. The verification model includes three core components: “Factory Audit,” “Product Testing,” and “Annual Supervision.” Through a rigorous verification process, it effectively demonstrates the recycled plastics content in products and ensures compliance with environmental and sustainability standards.
